The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting business growth through market research, competitor analysis, marketing activity, lead identification, and strategic insight. This position would suit a commercially aware individual who enjoys analysing information, identifying opportunities, and translating data into meaningful business intelligence.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will help shape marketing activity, identify emerging market opportunities, monitor industry developments, and contribute towards the organisation's continued success and growth.

The Role

As Marketing and Research Analyst, you will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and presenting market intelligence to support business development, strategic planning, and marketing initiatives.

You will monitor industry trends, competitor activity, tender opportunities, and market developments while supporting the organisation's digital presence and brand visibility.

This is a varied position combining research, analysis, marketing, stakeholder engagement, and business intelligence, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both analytical and creative work.

Key Responsibilities

Market Research & Business Intelligence

• Research industry trends, market developments, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities

• Monitor tender portals, business alerts, and sector-specific publications to identify potential opportunities

• Analyse market data and present findings to support strategic decision-making

• Produce reports and insights on market conditions, customer activity, and business opportunities

• Support the development and maintenance of business growth plans through accurate market intelligence

Marketing & Brand Development

• Manage and maintain the organisation's LinkedIn presence and other relevant digital platforms

• Create engaging content highlighting project successes, sustainability achievements, company updates, and industry news

• Support marketing campaigns, promotional activity, and brand awareness initiatives

• Research relevant industry content and identify opportunities to increase engagement and visibility

• Assist with the development of presentations, marketing materials, and business communications

CRM & Data Analysis

• Maintain accurate records within the CRM system

• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of customer, prospect, and market data

• Generate reports and pipeline analysis to support business planning activities

• Identify trends and opportunities through data analysis and reporting

Events, Awards & Industry Engagement

• Research relevant industry exhibitions, conferences, networking events, and award opportunities

• Support award submissions showcasing project excellence and sustainability achievements

• Assist with event planning, coordination, and attendance where required

• Monitor industry developments and share relevant information with stakeholders

About You

• Previous experience within marketing, research, business intelligence, data analysis, business development support, or a similar role

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience conducting market research and presenting findings

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Experience managing or supporting social media and digital marketing activity

• Ability to analyse data and translate findings into actionable insights

• Proactive, curious, and commercially minded approach

Desirable Experience

• Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms

• Previous experience within a professional services, construction, engineering, infrastructure, or consultancy environment

• Knowledge of market intelligence tools and reporting platforms

• Experience supporting business growth, strategic planning, or bid-related activity
