New opportunity for a Surface Preparation Operative (Masking) to work from engineering drawings to mask metal aircraft components prior to spray painting and/or surface treatments, then de-mask components post-treatment. This is a full-time role over 4 days per week, with every Friday off - a genuine work-life balance perk. Full training can be given.



Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical requirements to identify areas to be masked.

  • Mask metal components accurately prior to spray painting, coatings, and surface treatments.

  • De-mask components after treatment, handling parts carefully to avoid damage.

  • Ensure all work meets quality, regulatory and specification requirements.

  • Follow all health & safety procedures and PPE requirements.

  • Support housekeeping tasks including clean-ups on chemical leakage/spillage when required.



Qualifications & Experience

  • No previous masker experience required - full training provided.

  • Aerospace treatments / paint / metal finishing experience is advantageous but not essential.

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths, with the ability to read technical documentation/drawings.
