Elevation Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Material Handler / FLT Driver to join a leading manufacturing business based in Barnsley. You will play an important role in supporting manufacturing operations, ensuring materials and components are received, stored, controlled and delivered to the correct production areas efficiently and safely.

Working within a busy manufacturing and logistics environment, your responsibilities will include:

• Operating FLT trucks, including Flexi/Bendi and Counterbalance, to move materials safely around the site.

• Receiving, checking and booking goods into the stores department.

• Loading, unloading and moving raw materials, components and finished products.

• Supplying production lines with the correct materials and components.

• Picking, issuing and kitting parts in line with production requirements.

• Maintaining accurate stock records, locations and inventory information using computerised systems.

• Carrying out regular stock checks, stock takes and cycle counts.

• Monitoring stock levels and highlighting shortages or discrepancies.

• Supporting yard operations, including deliveries, storage and collections.

• Maintaining a safe, organised and tidy working environment.

To be considered for this Material Handler / FLT Driver position, you must have:

• Previous experience in a Material Handler, FLT Driver, Stores Operative or Logistics Operative role.

• A valid FLT licence, ideally Flexi/Bendi, with Counterbalance experience also desirable.

• FLT training or refresher training completed within the last three years.

• Experience moving and handling materials within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.

• Good stock control skills, including goods in, goods out and inventory management.

• Basic computer skills and confidence using systems to record stock movements.

• Good communication skills and a strong understanding of workplace health and safety.

Please note: This is a hands-on manufacturing logistics role, not simply a forklift driving position. You will be expected to support the full stores and materials handling process, including stock control, production line feeding, goods in and general logistics duties.

• Guaranteed starting salary of £29,452 per annum.

• Guaranteed minimum £50 weekly bonus, subject to terms and conditions.

• Enhanced overtime rates offering excellent additional earning potential:

  • £19.37 per hour – time and a half for the first four hours.

  • £25.82 per hour – double time thereafter.

• Additional annual bonus, with a recent average of approximately £500.
