Current projects range in value from 500k to £10 million. As a company we operate within a fast paced environment across a diverse range of projects primarily in London and the South East but with projects stretching across the whole of England.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing all aspects of external procurement for consumable products on site, excluding owned and hired-in plant, tools, and equipment
  • Providing prices for all materials and consumables included in project plans and drawings
  • Identifying potential suppliers and new products
  • Contacting a range of suppliers and sub-contractors to obtain quotations and requesting pre-qualification information
  • Agreeing delivery times
  • Compiling information for project O&M manuals, covering product guarantees, warranties, and chain of custody compliance requirements
  • Building relationships with regular suppliers
  • Requesting technical data information for products and recording as necessary
  • Maintaining records of large-volume delivery tickets for activities such as concrete pours and muck-aways, including proof of delivery, consignment notes, and batch and plant numbers
  • Arranging external waste management collections and deliveries across sites, and keeping records of waste transfer/consignment notes
  • Keeping detailed records and maintaining well-organised work schedules
  • Assessing the reliability of sub-contractors and suppliers
  • Dealing effectively with challenges relating to suppliers and the flow of materials
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental requirements for materials and services
  • Providing advice to the project estimator on the predicted cost of individual items
  • Liaising closely with estimators at the tendering stage to assist with sourcing products and materials
  • Preparing and maintaining cost reports to maximise efficiency within the business
  • Negotiating and agreeing the most favourable terms possible with suppliers once a contract has been secured
  • Producing quotation comparisons to demonstrate best value for money across a range of products and suppliers
  • Leading by example and acting in the best interests of the company when representing it day to day
  • Carrying out any other reasonable tasks requested by the line manager, senior management, or the Directorship team
