Materials & Dispatch Coordinator at Group Rhodes, Wakefield

Main Duties include:

Goods Receiving

• Receive, check and record incoming materials and deliveries, ensuring they are safely unloaded, stored and traceable

Raw Material & Stock Control

• Maintain safe, organised and clearly labelled raw material storage, with accurate stock records, regular checks and proper identification of reusable offcuts

Material Preparation

• Prepare, verify and allocate raw materials for production, minimising waste through effective cutting, identification and stock return processes

Production Support

• Move and supply correct materials to departments, communicating any shortages, discrepancies or delays.

Inspection

• Carry out basic quality checks, reporting any defects or non-conforming items, and handling components carefully to prevent damage

Deburring & Finishing

• Finish by deburring, cleaning and preparing for next stage, ensuring components are well-presented to a high standard

Painting

• Carry out painting preparation/application, ensuring suitable finish, safe working practices and a clean, organised painting area

Dispatch Preparation

• Prepare finished goods for dispatch by checking, cleaning, protecting, packaging and organising items to prevent damage

Health, Safety & Housekeeping

• Follow health, safety and housekeeping procedures, including PPE, manual handling and COSHH requirements

Qualifications

• Relevant practical skills and experience required (E)
• Relevant engineering, manufacturing or vocational qualification (D)
• Forklift truck, overhead crane or other lifting equipment certification (D)

Skills & Knowledge

• Practical, hands-on approach to work (E)
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail (E)
• Ability to work accurately and follow instructions (E)
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings, measurements and use standard measuring equipment (E)
• Comfortable handling a variety of materials and manufacturing components (E)
• Able to work independently and as well as part of a wider production team (E)
• Able to work safely within an industrial/manufacturing environment (E)

Experience

• Previous experience within an engineering, manufacturing, warehouse or materials environment (D)
• Experience handling steel bar, tube, plate or similar raw materials (D)
• Experience operating industrial saws (D)
• Experience with stock control or materials management, and carrying our basic inspection (D)
• Experience spray painting or industrial finishing (D)
• Previous experience within an engineering, manufacturing, warehouse or materials environment (D)
