Mathematics Teacher – Secondary School

Location: Enfield, London
Salary: £37,870–£56,154 per annum (M1–UPS3)
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start Date: 8 September 2026
Key Stages: KS3–KS5

Teach Now is recruiting a motivated and ambitious Mathematics Teacher for a secondary school in Enfield starting September 2026.

The successful candidate will join a secondary Mathematics department teaching across KS3 and KS4, with the potential to contribute to KS5 depending on subject expertise and experience.

We are looking for a teacher who combines secure mathematical knowledge with clear explanation, high expectations and the ability to build confidence in pupils at all levels – from those who find Mathematics challenging to high-attaining students preparing for further study.

Applications from both ECTs and experienced Mathematics Teachers are encouraged.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver high-quality Mathematics lessons across KS3 and KS4
  • Teach GCSE Mathematics and KS5 where appropriate
  • Develop pupils’ fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Assess pupil understanding and use progress information to inform teaching
  • Provide appropriate challenge and support for pupils across the ability range
  • Maintain clear routines and high expectations for behaviour and learning
  • Contribute to departmental planning, assessment and moderation
  • Support intervention and revision programmes where required
  • Participate in parents’ evenings, professional development and wider school activities
Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Strong Mathematics subject knowledge
  • Experience of, or training in, teaching Mathematics at secondary level
  • An understanding of GCSE Mathematics curriculum and assessment
  • Strong behaviour-management and classroom-organisation skills
  • High expectations for pupil progress and achievement
  • The ability to explain mathematical concepts clearly and in different ways
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Satisfactory recent professional references

Experience teaching A-Level Mathematics or Further Mathematics would be welcomed but is not essential.
