Teacher Pay Scale: £153.85 - £252.71 per day (depending on experience)

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Maths Teacher to join a supportive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in North Tyneside on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work with students who require additional support to re-engage with education and achieve their potential.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 pupils, adapting learning to meet individual needs while creating a safe, structured and positive learning environment. Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships are essential for success in this role. PRUs support pupils with a range of Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, so a calm, patient and consistent approach is vital.
The Role
- Deliver high-quality Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Plan, prepare and assess engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Build positive, professional relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress.
- Manage challenging behaviour using restorative and de-escalation strategies.
- Work collaboratively with support staff, senior leaders and external professionals.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Maths at secondary level.
- Previous experience working within a PRU, Alternative Provision, SEMH or SEND setting is desirable.
- Excellent behaviour management and classroom management skills.
- Resilient, adaptable and committed to improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusive teaching practices.

- Competitive daily pay between £153.85 - £252.71, depending on experience.
