The Role

As a Maths Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 during Maths lessons.
  • Deliver targeted one-to-one and small group intervention sessions to help students improve their mathematical understanding and confidence.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
  • Provide tailored support for students with varying learning needs, ensuring every learner can reach their potential.
  • Help prepare classroom resources and contribute to a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.


The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject (preferred).
  • Have previous experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary school setting.
  • Possess excellent mathematical knowledge and strong communication skills.
  • Be patient, enthusiastic and committed to helping students achieve academic success.
  • Have the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Be reliable, proactive and keen to contribute to the wider school community.
