Job Details
We're looking for Maths Tutors to help young people across Hampshire rebuild confidence, overcome barriers to learning, and achieve positive educational outcomes.
Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide personalised 1:1 tuition to vulnerable children and young people who require alternative educational provision. Students may be of varying ages and backgrounds, with many facing challenges that have disrupted their education. Your role will be to provide consistent support, create engaging learning experiences, and help learners make meaningful progress at their own pace.
This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy working closely with students and want to make a genuine impact outside of a traditional classroom environment.

- Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months' experience working in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles
- Strong Maths knowledge and the ability to deliver engaging, tailored sessions
- Experience supporting children and young people with SEND is desirable
- Patient, adaptable, and positive approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Access to a vehicle is beneficial; alternatively, willingness to travel within your local area
What You'll Be Supporting
You may work with learners who have a range of additional needs, including:
- ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
- SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs)
- ADHD
- Anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance
- EHCPs and other identified educational needs
Each placement is unique, requiring a personalised approach that focuses on engagement, confidence-building, and educational progress.
