Pay: £16.68 per hour + regular overtime available at enhanced rates
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (up to 6 months)
Hales Group are recruiting for a Mechanical Assembly Technician on behalf of a leading engineering manufacturer based in Beccles.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled team building bespoke automation and specialist machinery for a range of industries. Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications, you'll be involved in the assembly, fitting and testing of high-quality machinery and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical assembly of machinery, sub-assemblies and specialist equipment
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, build instructions and technical documentation
- Precision fitting, alignment and installation of mechanical components
- Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively
- Selecting, modifying and installing parts to meet design specifications
- Carrying out quality inspections throughout the assembly process
- Identifying and reporting faults, defects or build issues
- Maintaining accurate production records and documentation
- Working to company quality, safety and production standards
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in Mechanical Assembly, Mechanical Fitting, Machine Building or a similar engineering role
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail
- Experience using hand tools, power tools and general workshop equipment
- Good understanding of assembly techniques and quality standards
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
