A leading specialist manufacturer of superconducting scientific instrumentation is looking to hire an experienced Mechanical Assembly Technician to join their small specialist team. This Mechanical Assembly Technician role would suit someone who has exceptional mechanical based skills and experience, being able to read engineering drawings, using your ranging mechanical skill set, you will weld, fabricate and solder parts to build their highly complex instrumentation.
Typical duties for the Mechanical Assembly Technician:
- Welding, hard and soft soldering of parts.
- Assembly of products in line with engineering drawings.
- Leak testing of systems with helium.
- Occasional use of manual lathe and mill.
- Identifying tooling and equipment requirements to improve efficiency within assembly
- Mechanical fitting and assembly.
- Cryogen handling.
- Vacuum and leak testing.
- Soldering (hard and soft).
- Welding.
- Machining.
- Wiring.
