Client: Over the past 40 years our client has established itself as an industry leading M&E contractor operating within the UK. With a turnover in excess of £200M they undertake projects in a variety of fields including Pharmaceutical, Commercial Offices, Data centres, Residential, public and rail sector. Having earned a reputable name within the industry they benefit form a large amount of repeat business, with blue chip clients including Sir Robert McAlpine, Lend Lease, Brookfield, Mace and Kier. Projects range from £1M to £40M, consisting of fit out, new build, major project and infrastructure works. As a result of increased work winning, they are looking to expand their operations team.

Mechanical Construction Manager – £75,000 -£80,000 + £5,900 Car Allowance + Travel + Package

Role: Based in Surrey, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the project manager working on a new Laboratory space in Surrey The project is an infrastructure upgrade to an older Laboratory space. Reporting to a lead Mechanical project manager the position will be supported by a team of construction managers and supervisors. You will be working as the Site Manager delivering this £30 million project. You will be overseeing the initial strip out of the original building and laboratory. This will then develop into a full construction managers role for the project.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with Senior Project Managers and Project Directors
  • Prepare Contract Documents I.e. Method Statements, Risk Assessments, RFI’s, etc.
  • Assisting with coordination and management of M&E subcontractors
  • Read and understand Sub-Contract instructions
  • Liaising with client tam, main contractor and sub-contractors
  • Progress meetings with Sub – contractors, professional teams and client
  • Overseeing switching
  • Health & Safety (RAMS).
  • Sub-contractor coordination.
  • Liaising with client team, main contractor and sub-contractors
  • Progress meetings with sub-contractors, professional teams and client

The Ideal Candidate should have:

  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience within the healthcare sector
  • Strong communication skills
  • Be within commuting distance of central London
  • A willingness to develop their career and to strive towards promotion
  • Ideally the candidate will have subcontracted to main contractors such as Sir Robert McAlpine, Brookfield and Lend Lease.
