Options Resourcing are recruiting on behalf of a well-established Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Contractor operating across the South of England.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured projects, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to oversee the successful delivery of mechanical building services projects across the commercial, healthcare, education, leisure and public sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected contractor with a reputation for delivering high-quality M&E solutions on projects ranging from refurbishment works through to major new-build developments.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will take full responsibility for the commercial and operational delivery of multiple mechanical projects from pre-construction through to handover.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing mechanical projects from inception to completion.
- Overseeing project programmes, budgets and resource allocation.
- Managing site teams, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Attending client and progress meetings.
- Reviewing and coordinating technical drawings and specifications.
- Monitoring project performance against commercial targets.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Managing procurement of materials and labour.
- Supporting project managers and engineers throughout delivery.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and principal contractors.
- Producing progress reports and forecasts for senior management.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
The successful candidate will have:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager within the Building Services / M&E sector.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, pipework, public health and mechanical installations.
- Experience delivering commercial, healthcare, education or public sector projects.
- Excellent contractual and commercial awareness.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good understanding of programme management and project planning.
- SMSTS qualification preferred.
- Relevant mechanical qualifications (HNC/HND, City & Guilds or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence.
