Elitehire Solutions are working with a well-established, medium-sized and growing M&E contractor who are looking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join their team based in Stafford.

The business has a strong pipeline of work across the Midlands, delivering a mixture of commercial new-build and refurbishment projects.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager looking to join a stable, well-run contractor where there is genuine room for progression as the company continues to expand.

The Role

As Mechanical Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple mechanical projects from initial handover through to completion.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing multiple mechanical projects simultaneously
  • Overseeing projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover
  • Managing Site Managers, Supervisors, subcontractors and direct labour
  • Managing mechanical packages including heating, plumbing, pipework, plant rooms and associated building services
  • Monitoring project programmes, budgets and commercial performance
  • Procurement of labour, materials and subcontract packages
  • Attending client, progress and site meetings
  • Liaising with clients, main contractors, consultants and internal teams
  • Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
  • Monitoring quality and ensuring installations meet drawings and specifications
  • Managing variations and assisting with valuations
  • Identifying and resolving programme, technical and commercial issues
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and supporting repeat business

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager
  • Strong mechanical / building services background
  • Experience delivering commercial mechanical projects
  • Experience across new-build and refurbishment schemes
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical installations and project delivery
  • Good commercial and contractual awareness
  • Experience managing multiple projects and site teams
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Confident dealing directly with clients and main contractors
  • Ability to take ownership of projects from initial handover through to completion
