Hours: Monday – Friday 8am - 5pm
Our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys working with clients, and wants to take ownership of exciting projects from concept through to installation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Producing detailed manufacturing and general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
- Interpreting client briefs and transforming ideas into practical, cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Working closely with clients, suppliers, fabrication teams and installation crews to ensure projects run smoothly from start to finish.
- Carrying out engineering calculations, site surveys and technical assessments to support your designs.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional quality and meeting deadlines.
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards, best practices and safety requirements.
- Continuously looking for smarter, more efficient ways to improve designs and processes.
They're searching for someone who's technically strong, naturally curious and enjoys tackling engineering challenges head-on.
You'll ideally have:
- A degree (or equivalent qualification) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Previous experience within a Mechanical Design Engineer role, ideally in manufacturing, construction or a similar engineering environment.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
- A solid understanding of engineering principles, materials and fabrication processes.
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work directly with clients and colleagues.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects.
- A full UK driving licence for occasional site visits.
