This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering a major programme of infrastructure and non-infrastructure water projects.
Working remotely, you'll support mechanical design across water and wastewater treatment, with relevance to pumps, pumping stations and wider MEICA systems.
The 18-month duration makes this a strong option for an engineer looking for long-term project continuity within the UK water sector.
The Role
You'll be involved in:
- Delivering mechanical design across water and wastewater projects
- Developing mechanical engineering solutions throughout the design lifecycle
- Supporting the design of pumps, pumping systems and pumping stations
- Producing and reviewing technical design information
- Coordinating mechanical requirements with electrical, civil and process disciplines
- Supporting the integration of mechanical equipment within treatment facilities
- Contributing to multidisciplinary design reviews
- Resolving technical and coordination issues
- Supporting projects through design development and technical delivery
What They're Looking For
- Strong Mechanical Design Engineering experience
- Relevant mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience with pumps, pumping systems and/or pumping stations
- Good understanding of mechanical and MEICA engineering
- Ability to produce and review technical design information
- Strong multidisciplinary coordination skills
- Good technical problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work effectively within a remote engineering team
Previous experience across WTW, WWTW, water treatment or wastewater infrastructure would be particularly beneficial.
