What you will do
- Design parts and assemblies in 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Inventor or Creo)
- Produce detailed drawings with correct GD&T
- Carry out design calculations and tolerance analysis
- Work with production to make designs easy and cheap to build
- Support prototyping, testing and design changes
- Keep the bill of materials and engineering records up to date
What you need
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering, or similar
- 2+ years in a mechanical design role
- Strong 3D CAD skills and solid knowledge of GD&T
- Understanding of materials and manufacturing methods (machining, sheet metal, fabrication, moulding)
- Clear communication and good attention to detail
Nice to have
- FEA experience
- Experience with PDM/PLM systems
- Working towards IEng or CEng
