The Opportunity

A leading global manufacturer is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its engineering team in the Liverpool area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly successful organisation that designs and manufactures innovative products supplied to customers worldwide.The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and continuous improvement of engineered products, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions from concept through to production.
Key Responsibilities

• Create and develop 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for both new and existing products.
• Support product development projects from concept through validation and production release.
• Work closely with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and project teams to ensure successful product delivery.
• Conduct design reviews, engineering calculations, and tolerance analysis.
• Support prototype builds, testing activities, and product verification.
• Identify opportunities for product improvement, cost reduction, and enhanced manufacturability.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant engineering standards, customer requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
• Assist with root cause investigations and engineering problem-solving activities.

Requirements

Essential

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer position within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, NX, or similar).
• Experience producing engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, injection moulding, assembly, or fabrication.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
