Mechanical Design Engineer

We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an engineering specialist at their site based in Stockport.

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Design Engineer?

• Producing technical specifications, design documentation and detailed engineering drawings
• Developing Process Flow Diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams and mechanical system designs
• Completing pipe sizing, pump sizing, engineering calculations and technical safety assessments
• Coordinating CAD activity to keep drawings accurate and on programme
• Supporting project budgets and identifying cost-effective engineering solutions
• Managing supplier documentation, performance and technical deliverables
• Providing technical support throughout project delivery, including site surveys, technical issue resolution and commissioning support
• Liaising with Project Managers, suppliers, contractors and clients

What will you need?

• HNC, HND or degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• At least 5 years’ experience in technical management and development of energy projects
• Mechanical engineering experience across power generation, pipework and ventilation design
• Knowledge of CDM and health and safety
• Effective IT skills
• Experience using AutoCAD 3D (or equivalent)
• Full, current driving licence
