Mechanical Design Engineer

An industry-leading UK manufacturer of specialist motorsport and high-performance automotive solutions is seeking a talented Design Engineer to join their fast-paced engineering team in Daventry.
Working directly with Automotive OEMs and top-tier Motorsport teams, you will turn complex technical requirements into high-precision, compliant component designs. You will collaborate closely with on-site production and skilled fabrication teams to support projects from concept through to build.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings for bespoke automotive and motorsport applications.
- Ensure all designs comply with strict industry, safety, and governing body standards (e.g., FIA/MSA).
- Interface with CMM systems to support dimensional accuracy and quality control.
- Work cross-functionally with production, workshop fabricators, and external clients to troubleshoot builds and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Minimum HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equiv.).
- Software Expertise: Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor, or equivalent).
- Technical Skills: Proven ability to create/read engineering drawings and a strong understanding of CMM measurement systems.
- Mindset: Strong analytical problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Industry Interest: A genuine passion for motorsport or automotive engineering is highly advantageous.
