We are recruiting on behalf of an ambitious, design-led building services engineering consultancy that has built a strong reputation for delivering technically excellent mechanical and electrical engineering solutions across the commercial, workplace, healthcare, education, residential and mixed-use sectors. The business works alongside leading developers, architects, contractors and occupiers, supporting projects from early feasibility through to construction and handover.
This is an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Director to join the senior leadership team and play a key role in shaping the next phase of the company's growth.
The Role
You will provide technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of projects while helping to drive the commercial success of the business. Working closely with clients, architects and multidisciplinary teams, you will oversee project delivery from concept design through to completion, ensuring quality, innovation and practical engineering solutions remain at the heart of every project.
Alongside project leadership, you will mentor engineers, develop client relationships and contribute to business strategy, helping to expand an already impressive client base.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of complex mechanical building services projects.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
- Provide technical direction and quality assurance across project teams.
- Support business development activities, including winning new work and developing existing accounts.
- Mentor and develop engineers, helping build a high-performing technical team.
- Manage project resources, commercial performance and programme delivery.
- Champion sustainable, efficient and future-focused engineering solutions.
About You
- Chartered Mechanical Engineer (or working towards chartership).
- Significant experience within a building services consultancy.
- Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience developing client relationships.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Passion for delivering practical engineering solutions that balance technical excellence with commercial outcomes.
