MEP Construction Manager – Major Mixed-Use Projects

London | CIS Contract | 6–12 months

Blackmount Recruitment is working with a leading main contractor delivering large, complex mixed-use developments across London. They are looking for an experienced MEP Construction Manager to take ownership of the on-site delivery of mechanical or electrical works on a major live project.

This role would suit a strong site-based MEP professional with either a mechanical or electrical bias, who can drive progress, coordinate multiple subcontractors and ensure works are delivered safely, to programme and to the required quality standard.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day on-site delivery of MEP works across a major mixed-use scheme.
  • Manage, coordinate and challenge mechanical and electrical subcontractors to maintain progress against programme.
  • Drive installation quality, productivity, sequencing and safe working practices across all MEP activities.
  • Coordinate MEP interfaces with the structural, architectural, façade, fit-out and external works teams.
  • Review drawings, technical information and short-term programmes to identify risks, clashes and buildability issues.
  • Attend coordination, progress and planning meetings with the Project Manager, Design Team, engineers and trade contractors.
  • Monitor labour levels, materials, plant and access requirements to ensure works are properly resourced.
  • Carry out quality inspections and ensure works are completed in line with approved drawings, specifications and commissioning requirements.
  • Support the management of testing, commissioning, snagging and handover activities.
  • Maintain strong health, safety and environmental standards, including regular site inspections and toolbox talks.
  • Provide clear progress updates and assist in recovering delays where required.

What we are looking for

  • Proven experience as an MEP Construction Manager, M&E Manager, Mechanical Manager, Electrical Manager or Building Services Manager on major projects.
  • A strong mechanical or electrical bias, with enough all-round MEP knowledge to manage interfaces effectively.
  • Experience delivering MEP installations on large mixed-use, residential, commercial, hotel, healthcare or high-rise developments.
  • Strong understanding of site delivery, subcontractor management, coordination, quality assurance and commissioning.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced main-contractor environment with demanding programmes.
  • Able to read and interrogate MEP drawings, identify site issues early and drive practical solutions.
  • SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid essential; relevant mechanical or electrical qualifications are highly desirable.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced MEP site delivery professional to join a significant London development, with a 6–12 month CIS contract and potential for extension for the right individual.
