If so, this exciting new role could be for you. Our client is a manufacturer, installer and servicer of industrial machinery used across the UK. They are looking for an Electrical Mechanical Fitter to join their team and assist with assembly of equipment in the workshop

Main responsbilities 

  • Carry out mechanical and electrical assembly activities, including fitting pumps, valves, pipework, tanks, frames and ancillary equipment.
  • Install and terminate electrical wiring, cables, sensors, motors and instrumentation.
  • Build up equipment from engineering drawings, wiring schematics, work instructions and bills of materials.
  • Ensure all assemblies meet quality, safety and technical standards.
  • Identify and report technical, quality or production issues and support their resolution.
  • Record build information, as-built changes and drawing discrepancies, providing feedback to the design team.
  • Maintain accurate inspection, testing and build documentation.
  • Keep the workshop clean, organised and compliant with health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency and workshop performance.

Requirements 

  • You will have completed an apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline.
  • You will ideally hold a formal qualification e.g. ONC or equivalents in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical assembly within an engineering, manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Competent in the use of standard mechanical and electrical tools.
  • Understanding of relevant health and safety requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Able to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with engineers, supervisors and colleagues.
  • Flexible, adaptable and willing to learn new skills.
  • Experience within the water, wastewater, process equipment or similar industries would be advantageous.

Package

Core hours are 7.00 – 3.30 p.m.

The salary ranges between £36,000 - £38,000 + Overtime 

Benefits 

  • 23 days holiday (which 3 of those will need to be saved for Christmas shutdown) and with the completion of each year of service (providing you have worked a full holiday year - Jan – Dec) you will receive an additional day’s holiday up to a maximum of 33 days after ten years.  
  • 4 % employer pension, employee contribution is 4%, we increase our contribution after 5 years to 6% 
  • Company discretionary bonus: 10 % of the company’s profit before tax is annually shared amongst all employees – you will receive it pro-rata for the previous financial year
  • Sick Bonus: £50 a quarter
  • Death in Service 3 x your annual salary 
  • Private Medical Insurance on completion of the probationary period

  • Sick Pay (10 days during the first 12 months, over 12 months – 4 weeks and after that it is discretionary)
