About the RoleWe are recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join the on-site team at a large, high-profile venue. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth running, reliability, and efficiency of all mechanical building services and infrastructure across the site.
Working within a dedicated engineering team, you will provide technical expertise to support asset maintenance, system performance, and operational delivery. You will also play an important role in supporting live events, ensuring all mechanical systems operate safely and effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Complete reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks via the CAFM system, ensuring accurate records are maintained
- Support and promote high Health & Safety standards across all engineering activities
- Assist with contractor management, including oversight of specialist maintenance services
- Monitor and analyse building performance using BMS systems to ensure optimal efficiency
- Carry out fault-finding, maintenance, and repairs on mechanical systems including AHUs and FCUs
- Maintain the reliability and performance of all mechanical building services
- Conduct routine testing of alarms and systems, ensuring compliance documentation is up to date
- Support minor mechanical and plumbing installation works, including temporary event infrastructure
- Provide engineering support during events to ensure all services operate effectively under peak conditions
- Participate in the on-call rota (1 in 5 weeks) to provide out-of-hours support
- Undertake additional duties as required to support venue operations
- Recognised mechanical or plumbing qualification (e.g. City & Guilds)
- Relevant experience within building services engineering, ideally in a large or complex environment
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read and interpret MEP drawings
- Experience working with BMS systems (knowledge of Schneider EcoStruxure advantageous)
- Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations, including COSHH
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Team-focused, proactive approach with the ability to work under pressure
