An SME building services firm is looking to appoint a Mechanical Engineer to join their team, based in Kent, on a part-time basis of 3 days a week.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking for genuine independence and responsibility within a flatter, less hierarchical structure. With fewer layers of management than a larger firm, you'll have direct exposure to clients and projects, clear progression plans, and support towards Chartership.
The Role:
- Producing mechanical designs across a range of building services projects
- Preparing detailed designs, calculations, and specifications
- Taking on greater independence and responsibility in project delivery, with direct client and project exposure
- Working closely with colleagues and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification
- Coordinating with other disciplines to ensure fully integrated designs
- Ensuring designs comply with current building regulations and industry standards
What's Required:
- A degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a mechanical building services design role
- Strong working knowledge of relevant design software (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD)
- Working towards Chartered status (e.g. CIBSE) would be an advantage
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
