The successful candidate will be a proactive and reliable individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to problem-solving. You will be comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and take pride in maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and performance. You’ll play a key role in reducing downtime, improving machine performance, and supporting continuous improvement across the site.
MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide first hand intervention when there is a mechanical breakdown and assist with troubleshooting of equipment problems
- Repair and perform preventive maintenance as per established standards and plans
- To check equipment and operating systems and correct wherever necessary
- To ensure mechanical operations, standards and controls are maintained at high quality
- Complete maintenance care obligations and render assistance in equipment repair as necessary
- To perform quality improvement and cost reduction and productivity as obligated
- To oversee mechanical devices while in operation and listen for complications using accurate testing and measuring instruments
- To take out inoperative parts by disassembling devices with the use specific tools
- Regulate downtime by enlightening production staff on standard preventive maintenance methods
- Maintain records and files if requested
- To participate in emergency on-call duty on a rotational basis and work all shifts flexibly when job demands
- Ensure a high level of housekeeping of the working area is maintained throughout the shift
- To ensure health & safety rules are adhered to
Proven hands-on experience within a manufacturing environment
Recognised apprenticeship or degree within the field of : mechanical engineering/electrical engineering/engineering
FMCG experience
WORKING HOURS42 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 07:00-16:00
