Our client, a leading provider of comprehensive in‑house mechanical design and installation services for HVAC systems to major Tier 1 contractors, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their growing London-based team.

They currently operate from locations throughout the UK – Bristol, Cardiff and London and provide full inhouse mechanical design through inception to project completion.

Purpose of the Mechanical Engineer
As a Mechanical Engineer you will deliver high‑quality service, maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair across a wide range of air conditioning and chiller systems for commercial and industrial clients. The engineer plays a key role in ensuring reliable system performance, strengthening long‑standing customer relationships, and upholding the company’s reputation for exceptional technical standards and first‑class service. Operating across the London / M4 Corridor area, the role supports turnkey project delivery while contributing to the continued growth and success of the business.
Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer
- Deliver service, maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair across VRV/VRF systems, split units, chillers, AHUs and cold rooms.
- Attend commercial and industrial client sites across London and the M4 corridor, ensuring timely and professional support.
- Provide high‑quality technical workmanship that reflects the company’s reputation for first‑class service.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through clear communication, reliability and problem‑solving.
- Complete all required documentation, reporting and compliance tasks, including F‑Gas responsibilities.
- Support turnkey project delivery, contributing to installation, commissioning and system optimisation when required.
- Identify faults, propose effective solutions and ensure systems are restored to optimal performance.
- Maintain company equipment, van stock and tools to a professional standard.
- Work collaboratively with the wider engineering team and regional offices to ensure smooth operational delivery.
- Uphold all health & safety, environmental and industry regulations while on site.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain technical mastery and support company growth.
To be Considered for the Mechanical Engineer
- Proven experience in servicing, maintaining, fault finding and repairing air conditioning systems.
- Strong technical capability across VRV/VRF systems, split units, chillers, AHUs and cold rooms.
- 2079 Safe Handling of Refrigerants (F-Gas) CAT-1.
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Based within the London area and able to attend sites across London / M4 corridor.
- Comfortable working independently and managing workload across multiple client sites.
- Experience with commercial plantroom equipment (pumps, valves) advantageous but not essential.
- Apprenticeship within the air conditioning industry beneficial but not mandatory.
