Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer ready to inspire the next generation of engineering professionals?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Engineering department, delivering high-quality teaching and leading our Level 3 EAL Engineering Apprenticeship programme. You'll combine your industry expertise with outstanding teaching, helping apprentices develop the technical knowledge, practical skills and professional behaviours needed for successful careers in engineering.

What you'll do:
  • Deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across the Level 3 EAL Engineering Apprenticeship programme.
  • Lead and develop the apprenticeship programme, ensuring high standards of quality, compliance and learner achievement.
  • Teach a range of engineering subjects, including engineering design, fluid mechanics, lean manufacturing, CAD, CNC machining and mechanical assemblies.
  • Deliver engaging practical workshop sessions, ensuring apprentices develop industry-standard skills in a safe environment.
  • Monitor apprentice progress, providing timely feedback and interventions to maximise achievement.
  • Assess apprentice work in line with EAL standards and contribute to internal quality assurance activities.
  • Work collaboratively with employers and colleagues to ensure apprentices receive an outstanding learning experience.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement across the Engineering department.
What we're looking for:
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Strong industry experience within mechanical engineering or manufacturing.
  • Practical experience of CNC machining, mechanical assembly and workshop-based engineering.
  • Knowledge of engineering design, fluid mechanics, lean manufacturing and CAD software.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for developing apprentices and preparing them for successful careers in engineering.
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous professional development.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and adults.
