We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Supervisor to join our team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer who enjoys combining hands-on technical work with supervising a small onsite team.
This is a working supervisor role, where you'll lead a team of two engineers while remaining actively involved in planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding, and repair works. You'll lead by example, ensuring maintenance activities are delivered safely, compliantly, and to a high standard, while building strong relationships with the client and supporting the day-to-day delivery of the contract.
As a Mechanical Engineering Supervisor you'll:
- Supervise and support a small onsite team of two engineers, providing day-to-day guidance and technical support.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding and repairs, working alongside the team as required.
- Lead by example, promoting safe working practices and high standards of workmanship.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, on time and in line with contractual requirements.
- Coordinate contractors and subcontractors, including Permit to Work, Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
- Monitor performance against SLAs and KPIs.
- Support compliance with all health, safety, environmental and statutory requirements.
- Build positive working relationships with clients, suppliers and stakeholders.
- Support the delivery of small projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage work orders through the CAFM system, ensuring maintenance records are accurate and up to date.
What we're looking for:
- A recognised mechanical engineering or HVAC qualification.
- Previous experience in a Facilities Management or hard services environment.
- A strong hands-on mechanical maintenance background, with the ability to supervise a small team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day engineering activities.
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring engineers or technicians.
- Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, maintenance operations and contractor management.
- Experience using CAFM systems such as Maximo and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
