Our client, a growing and well-established building services contractor, is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in securing and delivering a diverse portfolio of mechanical projects within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The Role

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a range of mechanical building services projects. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure robust and commercially viable submissions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for mechanical building services projects
• Review drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to gather accurate pricing information
• Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
• Carry out site visits where required
• Manage the tender process from initial enquiry through to final submission
• Compile and present commercial documentation for internal review and approval
• Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options within tenders

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Mechanical Estimator role within building services
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, industry standards, and regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and work to tight deadlines
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
