As a core member of our site delivery team, your day-to-day duties as a Mechanical Fitter will involve:
- Pipework Installation: Fitting ductile iron, stainless steel, UPVC, and PE pipework spanning from DN80 up to DN1000.
- Equipment Fitting: Assembling, positioning, and installing heavy machinery, including mixers, blowers, UV channels, pumps, submersible systems, decanters, and ozone equipment.
- Technical Engineering: Accurately interpreting and working from technical engineering drawings and documents.
- Maintenance & Testing: Aligning, replacing, and inspecting pumps, valves, flow meters, and associated instruments, alongside carrying out system pressure testing. · Health & Safety: Safely operating in accordance with site procedures, RAMS, and UK health and safety regulations.
What You Will Need as a Mechanical Fitter
- Experience: A proven track record as a mechanical fitter with hands-on pipework and process equipment installation experience. Experience in water utilities or the civil infrastructure sector is highly advantageous.
- Tools Proficiency: Competence using basic power tools, laser levels, standard measuring instruments, and mechanical lifting equipment (e.g., chain blocks).
- Flexibility: A positive, team-focused work ethic with a genuine willingness to travel and lodge away at various UK project sites.
Certifications for Mechanical Fitter(Favourable but not essential):
- CSCS / SSSTS
- CPCS (Telescopic Handler, Signaller, MEWPs, or Crane Supervisor)
- Confined Space Trained (e.g., City & Guilds Medium Risk)
- PASMA
- Full UK Driving Licence
