Elevation Recruitment Group's Engineering Services Division are supporting a long standing client to recruit a Mechanical Fitter as part of the expansion of their Field Based Site Services Team.
The Site Services Team supports a well established and thriving client base with the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical materials handling systems at customer sites across the UK. The Mechanical Fitter role will involve working away all week, and as such your home location can be anywhere in the UK. It's a really exciting time to join the team as they continue to grow, and you will also get the opportunity to grow your career and to develop to Team Leader level over the next 12 months.
Key Responsibilities and Core Duties for the Mechanical Fitter include:
- Install, maintain, and repair materials handling systems, including chains, conveyors, sprockets, bearings, valves, and associated mechanical equipment
- Provide on-site mechanical support to customers, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs in line with agreed Service Level Agreements
- Work from engineering drawings, identifying discrepancies, changes, or omissions, and feeding these back to enable drawing updates
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with approved Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Strictly follow Safe Systems of Work, including Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and site-specific safety rules
Skills & Experience required for the Mechanical Fitter role include:
- Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related discipline)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a heavy engineering or industrial environment
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Clear communication skills, both verbal and written
- A proactive, solution-focused approach to work
- Full UK driving licence
