Mechanical Fitter

Location: East Ham
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (08:30 – 16:30)
Rate: £27.83 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract: 3-Month Contract
The Opportunity:
Experienced Rail Mechanical Fitter required to support internal aesthetic restoration work on rolling stock vehicles at East Ham Depot. This is a hands-on role focused on improving the internal condition and passenger presentation of trains.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Window film replacement
- Tube light and inverter replacement
- Passenger communication (Passcom) cover replacement
- Seat removal and replacement
- Door yellow strip replacement
- Previous experience as a mechanical fitter on rolling stock
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in cosmetic and interior finishing work
- Ability to carry out small modifications and restoration tasks to a high standard
- Good understanding of rail safety and quality procedures
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively as part of a team
- All tooling will be provided
- Candidates must supply their own safety boots (PPE)
