The Company

MJM is currently recruiting experienced Mechanical Fitters to work at Heathrow Airport on a long-term basis.

You'll be part of a skilled team responsible for maintaining the mechanical integrity of Heathrow's critical infrastructure-keeping systems running efficiently in one of the world's busiest airports.

The ideal candidate will have experience of installing or maintaining conveyor systems or have worked in a similar environment on industrial sized equipment.

The Role

As a Mechanical / Maintenance Fitter based at Heathrow, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of conveyor systems, ensuring they operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Your duties will include:

• Installing, assembling, and commissioning conveyor systems and associated mechanical equipment
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance, inspections, and servicing on conveyor systems
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out reactive repairs to minimise operational disruption
• Replacing and repairing conveyor components, including rollers, bearings, belts, motors, and gearboxes
• Working from engineering drawings and following safe working practices during installation and maintenance activities
• Collaborating with colleagues and site teams to ensure projects are completed on time and conveyor systems remain fully operational

About You

• Proven experience installing and maintaining industrial-sized systems (airport, logistics, or manufacturing environments)
• Recognised mechanical qualification - City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 (or higher)
• Valid CSCS Card - essential
• Flexible to work a mixture of days, nights, and weekends, depending on scope of works.
• Strong fault-finding skills and a proactive, safety-first mindset

Desirable Experience

It would be advantageous if you also have:

• Experience in a similar setting, manufacturing, industrial, or automated environment
• A 5-year checkable work history, required for Airside pass clearance
