Mechanical Fitter

Long-Term Contract until December 2027
Monday to Friday 7:30am – 3:30pm 40 Hours Per Week

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join a busy team working on vehicle, bogie and rail overhauls. If you've got the hands-on skills, a great eye for detail, and enjoy working on large-scale engineering projects, we want to hear from you!

As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be:

• Stripping, rebuilding and fitting mechanical components
• Working on large vehicle and coach overhaul projects
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics
• Using hand and power tools to cut, fit, assemble and modify components
• Carrying out quality checks to ensure everything lines up perfectly
• Following Health & Safety procedures and maintaining a safe workshop environment

You'll be a great fit if you have:

• Proven Mechanical Fitter experience in a technical or production environment
• Experience working on vehicles, rolling stock, coaches, heavy engineering or similar
• The ability to confidently read and work from engineering drawings
• Strong hand and power tool skills
• A keen eye for detail and a problem-solving mindset
• Experience in rail, aviation, military, marine or heavy vehicle sectors (desirable)
• Basic electrical schematic reading skills (a bonus, not essential)

• Long-term contract through to December 2027
• PAYE: £20.05 per hour
• Umbrella: £27.34 per hour
• Stable day shifts with no weekends
