Mechanical Fitter / Steel Erector

Starting salary: £19.50–£21.50 per hour, depending on experience, skills and relevant qualifications

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Mechanical Fitter / Steel Erector to join our team. This is a hands-on role involving mechanical installation, structural steelwork and site-based projects.

We’re looking for someone with a strong mechanical and site installation background who takes pride in their work, can work effectively as part of a team and is confident solving problems on site.

• 39-hour basic working week
• Overtime paid at 1.5x
• 24 days’ annual holiday + bank holidays
• £19.50–£21.50 per hour, depending on skillset, experience and relevant tickets
• Refresher training available for relevant qualifications
• Opportunities to develop your skills and take on additional responsibilities

Applicants should have:

• Good mechanical and site installation knowledge
• Experience with structural steelwork installation
• Valid B1 certificate – refresher training can be provided
• Valid IPAF 3A & 3B dual category – refresher training can be provided
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• A practical approach to problem solving
• A full driving licence
• A strong commitment to working safely and to a high standard

It would be advantageous if you also have:

• J3 certification
• Experience or familiarity with food factory processes and environments
• Previous team leadership or supervisory experience
• Flexibility and willingness to work away from home occasionally, typically for around one week at a time

You’ll be a practical, reliable and safety-conscious individual who is comfortable working on site and as part of a team. You’ll have a can-do attitude, good attention to detail and the ability to work independently when required.
