We're recruiting experienced Mechanical Fitters to support the installation of conveyor and automated material handling systems on a major logistics and distribution project.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a large-scale industrial installation alongside an experienced team, with long-term contract opportunities available.
The Role
As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll be involved in the installation and assembly of automated conveyor systems and associated mechanical equipment within a fast-paced logistics environment.
Your duties will include:
  • Installing conveyor systems and mechanical handling equipment
  • Mechanical assembly of rollers, drives, motors, gearboxes and conveyor components
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Mechanical alignment, levelling and adjustment of equipment
  • Working alongside electrical and commissioning engineers
  • Ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard
  • Following site health and safety procedures at all times
 
You'll ideally have experience in one or more of the following:
  • Conveyor installation
  • Automated material handling equipment (MHE)
  • Warehouse automation
  • Distribution centre installations
  • Parcel sortation systems
  • Industrial machinery installation
  • Mechanical assembly
  • Production or manufacturing equipment installation
You'll also have:
  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Conveyor Fitter or Installation Engineer
  • The ability to read engineering drawings
  • Strong mechanical installation and assembly skills
  • CSCS Card (preferred)
  • IPAF and/or PASMA (advantageous)
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
