We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Lead to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Helsinki, Finland.

This is an excellent opportunity to join one of Europe's leading data centre contractors, delivering some of the continent's largest and most technically advanced mission-critical projects. As Mechanical Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of all mechanical works, leading site teams, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring the project is delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Mechanical Engineering team throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee the delivery of all mechanical works from design through installation and commissioning.
• Review designs and propose improvements to enhance buildability, quality, programme, and cost efficiency.
• Coordinate closely with Project Managers, Contracts Managers, Design Teams, and other discipline leads.
• Ensure subcontractors have the information, drawings, and resources required to deliver works safely and efficiently.
• Monitor installation quality, workmanship, and compliance with project specifications.
• Manage project resources, labour planning, and programme delivery.
• Drive commercial awareness across the project while supporting cost control initiatives.
• Identify design issues and ensure they are communicated and resolved promptly.
• Promote and maintain the highest standards of Health & Safety and Quality.
• Support commissioning activities and project handover.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors throughout the project.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years' experience delivering large-scale Mechanical or MEP construction projects.
• Proven experience leading Mechanical teams on data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, or mission-critical projects.
• Strong knowledge of procurement, planning, scheduling, and construction sequencing.
• Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Commercially aware with excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and organisational abilities.
• Data Centre experience is essential.
