Mechanical M&E Engineer

£34,000 per annum + £1200 per annum on call standby

call out rates - Time and a half Mon to Sat and Sunday & bank holidays double time

We are recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to support the maintenance and operation of a commercial building in Paisley. This will be a 12 week temp contract moving on to permanent role after.

• Mechanical maintenance - Carry out repairs, planned maintenance, and minor installations on mechanical equipment.

• Fault diagnosis - Identify issues, complete remedial works, and ensure tasks meet contractual timescales.

• Pipework & filters - Experience desirable but not essential.

• Handheld technology - Use digital systems to record and complete tasks.

• Team support - Work with colleagues and support subcontractors on site.

• Documentation - Complete all work records accurately and on time.

• Customer relations - Maintain strong on‑site client relationships.

• Health & Safety - Work safely and follow all company procedures.

• Training - Participate in required training and development.

• On‑call & out‑of‑hours - Take part in the on‑call rota and occasional out‑of‑hours work (paid). One in 5 weeks.

• NVQ/SVQ Qualification

• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues

• Good communication and customer‑facing ability

• Reliable, safety‑focused, and proactive
