Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Hertfordshire
Salary: Up to £45,000 DOE
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm – some flexibility
Site: Static – Higher Education
Holiday: 25 Days + Bank Holidays

We are looking for 2 Mechanical Maintenance Engineers to join a leading Facilities Management provider on a large Higher Education contract in Hertfordshire.

This is a static position working as part of an established on-site engineering team, carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a large commercial estate.

The Role

  • Carrying out mechanical PPM and reactive maintenance
  • Fault finding and repairs across mechanical plant and equipment
  • Maintenance of AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors and valves
  • General HVAC and building services maintenance
  • Plant room inspections and maintenance
  • Working on heating and hot water systems
  • Checking temperatures, pressures and system performance
  • Diagnosing mechanical faults and replacing components
  • Minor plumbing repairs including leaks, taps, toilets and pipework
  • Working with specialist contractors where required
  • Completing maintenance records and PPM documentation
  • Ensuring plant and equipment remains compliant and operational
  • Working alongside the wider engineering team across the estate

Requirements

  • Previous Mechanical Maintenance / Building Services experience
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical plant and HVAC systems
  • Experience working on AHUs, FCUs, pumps, motors and valves
  • Mechanical, Plumbing or Building Services qualification preferred
  • Previous commercial maintenance experience
  • Experience within commercial, education, healthcare or large estates would be beneficial
  • Comfortable carrying out minor plumbing alongside mechanical maintenance
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
