Location: Shoreditch, London
Salary: Up to £47,000 per annum
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00am–4:00pm & 10:00am–7:00pm
On-Call: 1 in 4 weeks – £100 standby payment

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Shoreditch – Up to £47,000

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our facilities management team working on a prestigious corporate banking building in Shoreditch, London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased engineer looking to join a professional environment with strong opportunities for training, development and career progression.

You will be responsible for ensuring the building's mechanical services and systems are maintained to a high standard, providing a reliable and efficient service within a high-profile corporate environment.

The Role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical building services and plant.
  • Ensuring all mechanical systems are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Responding to maintenance requests and breakdowns.
  • Carrying out regular inspections and identifying potential issues before they become failures.
  • Completing maintenance records and ensuring all works are accurately documented.
  • Working closely with the wider engineering and facilities management team.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety procedures and site requirements.
  • Providing a professional and customer-focused service within a prestigious corporate banking environment.

Working Hours & On-Call

  • Monday to Friday.
  • Rotating shifts: 7:00am–4:00pm and 10:00am–7:00pm.
  • 1 in 4 weeks on-call rota.
  • £100 standby payment for each on-call week.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical building services maintenance and be comfortable working within a commercial environment.

You should be:

  • Experienced in mechanical maintenance within commercial buildings or facilities management.
  • Mechanically qualified or suitably experienced.
  • Confident carrying out both PPM and reactive maintenance.
  • Able to diagnose faults and resolve mechanical issues effectively.
  • Health & safety conscious with a professional approach.
  • Customer-focused and able to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Comfortable working as part of a team while also being able to work independently.
  • Flexible and willing to participate in the 1 in 4 on-call rota.
