Hours - Rotating shift pattern of:

Week 1: 6.00am – 2.00pm Monday – Friday.

Week 2: 2.00pm – 10.30pm Monday – Thursday and 2.00pm – 7.30pm Friday. 

 

Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer with strong mechanical skills, with some electrical knowledge, and experience within a manufacturing environment? Our client is seeking a proactive and solutions-focused engineer to support the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of a busy production facility.

 

The Role

 

As a key member of the maintenance team, you will play an important role in ensuring equipment availability, reducing downtime, and supporting ongoing site improvement projects. This position offers a varied workload across production machinery, facilities maintenance, and capital improvement activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs to production equipment.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance activities and condition-based monitoring.
  • Support reactive maintenance and breakdown response activities.
  • Work with hydraulic, pneumatic and automated machinery systems.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades and site improvement projects.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
  • Utilise the CMMS system to manage maintenance activities and records.
  • Coordinate remedial actions identified through inspections and maintenance activities.
  • Support facilities maintenance across buildings and site services.
  • Liaise with contractors and assist with permits, RAMS reviews and safe systems of work.
  • Source components and support purchasing requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency.

 

Requirements

 

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 in an Engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • GCSE Maths and English Grade 5 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role within manufacturing.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics and industrial machinery.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records.

Desirable

  • Engineering apprenticeship.
  • IOSH Working Safely or similar safety qualification.
  • Knowledge of CNC machinery, injection moulding, automation or plating processes.
  • Additional qualifications such as 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
