Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Nights)
Location: Chaterhouse Square, Central London (site-based)
Salary: £52,500
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Hours: 4-on-4-off, nights only (19:00-07:00)

About the Role

We're recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the in-house engineering team at a leading London university. Based at their Charterhouse Square campus, you'll help keep a range of academic and research buildings running smoothly overnight.

This is a mechanically biased role covering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works across a variety of building services systems and plant, including HVAC, heating and water services. The 4-on-4-off nights pattern gives you plenty of time off, alongside the security of a permanent role with a well-established organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance across the campus buildings
• Maintaining and fault-finding on HVAC systems, including AHUs, FCUs and extract ventilation
• Looking after heating and chilled water systems, including boilers, chillers, pumps and pressurisation units
• Carrying out water hygiene tasks on domestic hot and cold water systems, such as temperature monitoring and flushing
• Maintaining laboratory ventilation such as fume cupboards
• Monitoring plant via the BMS, responding to alarms overnight and completing maintenance records accurately

Requirements

• Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, e.g. HVAC or plumbing (essential)
• Building services or facilities maintenance experience, with BMS knowledge (desirable)
• Comfortable working independently on a nights rota
