We're looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a highly automated distribution and logistics operation. Working within a fast-paced warehouse environment, you'll maintain, fault-find and improve a wide range of automated material handling equipment that keeps products flowing to customers across the UK.

This is an excellent temporary contract opportunity for engineers from automated warehouses, FMCG, manufacturing, distribution centres, parcel hubs, airports, baggage handling operations, or other high-speed automated environments.

• Conveyor systems
• Automated sortation systems
• ASRS (Automated Storage & Retrieval Systems)
• Pallet handling equipment
• Cranes and shuttle systems
• Automated packing and labelling machinery
• Gearboxes, bearings, chains and sprockets
• Motors, rollers and drives
• Pneumatic and mechanical handling systems
• Robotics and automation equipment

• Reactive breakdown maintenance to minimise downtime
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Mechanical fault-finding on automated equipment
• Replacing and repairing bearings, chains, belts, gearboxes and motors
• Continuous improvement and reliability projects
• Supporting operational performance and site uptime targets
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety and engineering standards

We welcome applications from engineers with experience in:

• Automated warehouses and distribution centres
• E-commerce fulfilment centres and retail logistics operations
• Parcel sorting hubs, courier networks and baggage handling systems
• FMCG manufacturing and food production
• High-speed production, packaging and materials handling environments

• Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent)
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience working on conveyors, sortation systems or automated machinery
• Knowledge of bearings, gearboxes, pneumatics, chains, belts and drives
• Ability to work independently in a fast-moving environment
• Continuous improvement mindset
