Mechanical or Electrical Engineer (Building Services) – Cambridge
An SME building services firm, known for its exceptionally high staff retention, is looking to appoint a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer to join their team, based in Cambridge.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a few years' experience to work across a varied portfolio of building services projects, playing a hands-on role in design and delivery within a close-knit, supportive team environment where people tend to stay for the long term.
The Role:
- Producing mechanical or electrical designs across a range of building services projects
- Preparing detailed designs, calculations, and specifications
- Working closely with project managers, senior engineers, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification
- Coordinating with architects and other disciplines to ensure fully integrated designs
- Ensuring designs comply with current building regulations and industry standards
What's Required:
- A degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
- 3+ years' experience in a building services design role
- Strong working knowledge of relevant design software (e.g. Revit, AutoCAD)
- Chartered status (or working towards, e.g. CIBSE/IET) would be an advantage
- Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
