Mechanical Pipefitters in Shrewsbury, Shropshire

Location: Shrewsbury Hospital, SY3
Start Date: 28/09/2026
Duration: 6 months
Pay Rate: £28.00-£29.00 per hour
Overtime/Weekends: As and when required

• 
  Monday-Thursday: 07:30-16:30
• 
  Friday: 07:30-15:00
• 
  Morning Break: 20 minutes, paid
• 
  Afternoon Break: 30 minutes, unpaid

We are currently looking for 2 experienced Mechanical Pipefitters to work on a 6-month project at Shrewsbury Hospital.
The successful candidates will be responsible for the installation of mechanical services, including:

• 
  First-fix installation of secondary steelwork using Sikla and Unistrut systems.
• 
  Installation of copper press-fit pipework.
• 
  Installation of stainless-steel flanged pipework.
• 
  Reading and working from mechanical drawings.
• 
  Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with project requirements.
• 
  Maintaining excellent health and safety standards throughout the project.

• 
  Valid CSCS, JIB or equivalent Skills Card - card must state Mechanical Pipefitting.
• 
  NVQ Level 2 minimum in a relevant mechanical/pipefitting qualification.
• 
  Valid IPAF certification.
• 
  Own hand tools.
• 
  Proven experience as a Mechanical Pipefitter.
• 
  Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• 
  Reliable with excellent timekeeping and attendance.
• 
  Must have the skills and experience required to carry out the duties of the role safely and competently.

• 
  Previous experience working on similar hospital or large commercial projects.
• 
  Own transport.
