Mechanical Plant Fitter

My client is urgently seeking a Plant Fitter for an immediate start on a temp to perm basis for their mining site, commutable from Bath / Bristol / Chippenham area.

Please note the majority of the work is based underground in a stone mine so must be able to work in PPE and a mining or Quarrying environment.

Initially a temp role for 12 weeks, moving to Permanent Position for the successful candidate

Duties are:-

Maintaining, repair, commissioning of forklift trucks, small loaders, 2.5 tonne slews, scooptrams etc and all plant on site.

Implementation of PPM Scheme, defect reporting and close out.

Brake testing

Monthly safety checks to all equipment

Maintaining all plant records etc

A commitment to safe working practices.

Candidates must have experience in the above and ideally hold NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical fitting / Plant or Vehicle /  Lorry  Maintenance or similar field qualification.

Working Shift is 08.00 – 16.30 Mon – Friday 40 hours per week.

Rate of pay : £21.87 per hour = £45,500 per year (temp in interim accrues holiday pay)

Overtime worked above 40 hours per week paid at 1.5 rate – Paid at £32.80 per hour

Full UK clean driving licence

Upon making permanent after 12 weeks
