Mechanical Project Manager – Data Centre
Salter Grange is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Project Manager for a major hyperscale data centre project on behalf of a leading international technical contractor.
This is a senior opportunity to take responsibility for the delivery of the mechanical package on a large-scale data centre project, working closely with the Project Director, engineering teams, subcontractors and client to ensure safe, high-quality and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the delivery of the mechanical scope from construction through to commissioning and handover.

Manage mechanical subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.

Coordinate mechanical works with CSA, electrical, commissioning and other project disciplines.

Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.

Manage programme, progress, costs, procurement and project reporting.

Review technical documentation, drawings, specifications and method statements.

Oversee installation, testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems.

Manage inspections, quality issues, RFIs and technical queries.

Work closely with the client, design team and project leadership.

Drive performance and ensure project milestones are achieved.
Key Requirements
-
Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager on major construction projects.

Strong experience within data centres, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial or large-scale commercial projects.

Strong knowledge of mechanical building services and construction delivery.

Experience managing mechanical subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.

Strong programme, commercial and stakeholder management skills.

Experience through installation, commissioning and handover.

Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced, high-value project environment.
