Client: With a portfolio of projects in the UK client is recognised as a market leading building services contractor. They are renowned for large fit out and new build projects in commercial office, data centre and public sectors. Clients include major law and financial companies, as well as large blue chip main contractors. After a successful year they are now looking to increase turnover to £380M, consequently they are looking to expand their operations team.
Role: Mechanical Project Manager – West London – Salary £90,000 + £5,000 Car Allowance + Full Travel Expenses + Pension + Healthcare + Bonus
The project is a major new rail scheme in Acton.
Role/Responsibilities:
- Tender review/validation
- Design Management (reviewing design liaising with client, main contractor and consultants)
- Procurement of subcontractors, kit and plant
- Technical submittals
- RFIs – Liaison with client team, main contractor and sub contractors
- Value Engineering where applicable
- Programming of works – using MS Project or Asta project
- Health & Safety management (RAMs)
- Commercial Responsibility, assisting with sub contractor variation accounts working alongside project specific Quantity Surveyor.
- Management of variations
- Team Coordination (overseeing junior engineers, construction managers and supervisors)
- Progress meetings with sub contractors, client and internal meetings
- Overseeing commissioning stages
- Formulation of O&M Manuals and client handover
The ideal candidate:
- Experience working in the rail sector
- A minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role
- The candidate will show longevity in previous employment
