Project Manager – Energy Centres & Plant Rooms

Location: London – based from London office in Ealing, with site travel on projects across London

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join one of the UK's leading energy and infrastructure contractors, managing the delivery of plant room and energy centre projects across the London region.

This is a mechanically biased Project Management role, suited to someone with a strong background delivering complex commercial, industrial or energy-related projects.

You will take responsibility for projects from planning and mobilisation through to completion, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams to deliver safely, commercially and to programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of multiple projects from inception through to completion.
  • Plan, execute and finalise projects within agreed programme, budget and quality requirements.
  • Manage the construction of plant rooms and energy centres across London.
  • Coordinate Project Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Planning Managers, subcontractors and consultants.
  • Manage all aspects of project contracts and commercial performance.
  • Develop and maintain construction programmes and monitor progress.
  • Attend site meetings and produce regular contract/project status reports.
  • Manage resources, including supervising, organising and allocating work to project teams.
  • Review systems and working methods to improve project performance.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to developing future business opportunities.
  • Support the bid and pre-construction teams where required.
  • Take overall responsibility for site Health & Safety, ensuring statutory and company requirements are met.
  • Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with company policies and quality standards.
  • Manage commercial performance, costs and project budgets.
  • Deliver multiple projects simultaneously where required.

About You

We are looking for a mechanically biased Project Manager with:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Project Management role.
  • Proven experience delivering commercial, industrial or complex mechanical projects.
  • Experience managing plant rooms, energy centres or similar mechanical infrastructure would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, programme management and commercial delivery.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Strong client-facing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage projects against strict deadlines and budgets.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
  • SMSTS, IOSH or equivalent H&S qualification desirable.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Reliable, resilient and able to remain effective in challenging circumstances.
